Oliver Wyman’s Asia-Pacific team had been shortlisted for a number of projects involving building new digital financial services propositions for their clients across Southeast Asia. As a result, they were facing a crunch in terms of both capacity and in-house capabilities. In particular, they were looking to add high-quality independent consultants in the areas of Strategy, Product Management, PMO, and Customer Experience.

What we did

Outsized and Oliver Wyman partnered to put together world-beating teams of Oliver Wyman and independent consultants for a number of cutting-edge projects in the digital financial services space.

We agreed a streamlined process in terms of vetting process, depth of talent pools, and talent engagement strategy. In the end we built four bespoke talent pools:

  • Strategy Consultants: Strategy experts with consulting firm backgrounds and with previous digital financial services experience. They needed to be able to work on greenfield engagements, moving from strategy through to proposition design and execution.
  • Product Managers: We built a pool of a product managers and product owners with deep experience in defining and implementing digital product roadmaps in a financial services context.
  • PMOs: A number of Programme Management Office consultants with experience in setting up project structures, processes and governance within large digital transformation programmes in a financial services context. Some of the pool also had scrum master/ agile PM skills.
  • Customer Experience experts: A bench of proven CX, UI and UX independent consultants with experience helping to transform high level ideas/concepts into detailed customer experience designs.
